  What is best for daughter?

  We have an adopted daughter daughter that will soon be 18.  She wants to go live with her bio mom. (She has always had visits with her). Question is: should we force her to come back home - call police etc. or should we just give her permission to stay there? She was on a visit and now says she doesnt want to come home. We feel she will be safe there but not the best lifestyle.

  My husband's ex-wife & her husband adopted our 2 grandchildren, can we contest the adoption?

   Yyou should consult a family law attorney about your legal options and rights, if they are being witheld. You said nothing about whether you had discussed this with them , the adoptive parents, and whether you are already welcomed to visit and keep a relationship with your grandchildren. And if  you want to contest the adoption itself, again, consult an attorney. My guess is that there is a period of time before it becomes permanent, when changes may be made , or the adoption revoked, but after then, its permanent and not contestable. That's a guess. This is a legal matter, so ask a lawyer where the adoption is .

  why can't people over 45 adopt?

  maybe this is not always the case but some agencies or countries don't allow it. i think it is stupid

  I do like Mexicans.  They are generally polite and eager people.  I doubt I'd ever consider adopting anybody.

  Everything you say is true. Yet, there are tens of thousands of kids adopted in the US every year. If you try to adopt, there's a risk you'll end up disappointed. But you should ask yourself: is it better to take the risk and try to adopt anyway, or is it better to avoid the risk and accept that you'll probably always be childless? There's no right or wrong answer. There's only the answer you decide is best for you.

  (Side note: If you want to adopt from foster care, you can specify that you're only interested in kids whose parents have already lost their rights, leaving the kids free for immediate adoption.)

  home study info?

  We are adopting my niece, We've had her since the day she was born 9 years ago. My lawyer told me to have the school counselor or our pastor to do our home study since its kinship adoption. Has anyone else heard of this? We are in texas.

  Adoptions take a minimum of six months to be finalized - yours was filed too soon to be an amended birth certificate. 

  As another person said, the easiest way to get a definite answer is with a DNA kit from ancestry.com, or 23andme.com - the cousin matches will tell you if you have a different original family.

  Our youngest granddaughter does that too. One of our daughters hummed all the time. It's not an uncommon thing. Can she play in her room some of the time to give you a break? Otherwise try noise canceling headphones for yourself.

  An adult adoption may occur once the potential adoptee reaches the age of 18 or older. At that time, the only consent required is that of the adult wishing to be adopted and, of course, the person willing to adopt.

  It seems very unlikely, on several grounds. There's a great deal of screening before an adoption, and you would not be considered old enough. International adoptions are VERY difficult- most countries don't allow children to be adopted outside the country.

  Adopting a child in protective custody. ?

  A friend of the family recently asked me to adopt her child that is in custody of CPS. The friend had been identified as unfit and is not eligible  to gain custody. The father is a drug addict.  The friend informed her caseworker that she will like for me to adopt her daughter. Yesterday her caseworker had her to send a email detailing why she would like for me to adopt her daughter. Long story short....the friend end up trying to commit suicide last night several individuals intervene and was able to take the weapon from her. She left the home and has been walking the streets. As I am writing this there are people that are trying to get her some help. My question is should I inform the social worker of what is going on? Will I be able to adopt?  This happen in Georgia.

  Don't you think adoption shouldn't cost so much money especially when adopting from another country?

  It's basically selling a child. I completely condemn the idea of having to pay for a child. If the family is a good family and they have the funds and means of taking in a child then it shouldn't cost anything. Money really is the root of everything in this world.

  Is adoption worth it?

  I found out three weeks ago that I can't have children of my own. Needless to say I am absolutely devasted. I've always dreamed of being a mother, and now I feel like I have nothing to live for. I've thought about adoption but I've read that adopted kids don't share the same bond that they do with their birth mother. Does anyone know if that is true? I'm just so lost...
