How do i get a grease stain out of concrete?

Two years ago, a woman dragged a bag of trash out her door, through a breezeway whos floor is concrete.  She passed by another tenants door leaving a long streak of used cooking oil.  A co.nfrontation accured between the two women, and I intervened and tried to help clean up the mess, but a terrible stain was left.  Since then, both women have moved from the property, but the stain remains.  I am now renting one of the units.  We have an inspection tomorrow and have been told all in our building will recieve a write up if the stain is not cleaned up. We are scrambling to find something that will clean it.  Any ideas?

    Handwash clothes?

I had a load of mine and my girlfriend's dirty laundry to do. I live with my family and my sister sleeps in the same room as the washer and dryer (odd, i know, but that's the space we have.) i come with the hamper and see the lights are off and the door is locked. i knock and she calls from her bed that shes sleeping. it is late. i go back and tell my girlfriend that i cant do laundry tonight. she says she needs her clothes for work and school. i offered to handwash them and hang them to dry. she said she was scared they would shrink. id never heard of that so i looked it up and couldn't find anything on it, as well as looking up all the things to be careful about when handwashing clothing. i told her i didn't think they would shrink and id be careful, and asked her what she needed washed. she got pretty upset and wouldn't give me any other explanation why i cant handwash she clothes. she still wants me to wake up my sister to do laundry, and wake her up again ever later to move the clothes from washer to dryer. i think my sister should be able to sleep and its not her fault she shares a room with the washer. what do i do? i dont understand why i cant handwash clothes. am i missing something?

When you have a clothing item you can't wear anymore, do you re-use it for dusting your home or do you throw the shirt away?

    Favorite Answer:

If I need rags I'll cut the item up but if I'm good I make sure the item is washed and then put it in a bag and when it's full it goes to a charity shop (thrift store) that has a deal with rag merchants.  They'll take clothes for ragging as long as they're clean and the bag is clearly labelled.  Before that I used to burn them in the annual garden bonfire to avoid sending them to landfill.  I don't really like shopping so when I find something I like I wear it to death. Most years I discard very few clothes but sometimes they all seem to wear out at once so I need to buy lots or look like a hobo.

Can you simply buy a clothes dryer and plug it into a wall socket (at an apartment), and dry your clothes?

Or is there a little more to it than that; like needing an outlet pipe hookup to the outside or something.  Many apartment complexes have a laundry room, but suppose someone just wants to bring a dryer into their apartment.

how do you preserve a white hoodie top?

    Favorite Answer:

Check your fiber content, a hoodie is usually going to be 100% cotton.

The thing with clothing is that it's made to be used and will eventually wear out, just deal with that fact and use it til it needs to be replaced.

For white 100% cotton in a heavy fabric, I'd be washing it warm or hot with other light colors, like my white 100% cotton towels and dry on high.  I'd be spot treating any spots before laundering and bleaching as necessary.  I often use oxyclean on my whites and bleach occasionally if they need it.  There used to be a stuff called "blueing" which made your whites whiter, but I haven't seen that in a long time.

I would not hang dry a hoodie as it will stretch it out of shape, I'd be tumble drying it.

    Question about clogged arteries?

I'm someone that has gone on stretches of eating well and then sometimes the opposite, but moreso on the crappier diet. So my question is, how do I find out how much junk is stuck in bad places like my arteries? And why isn't there any approved method of going in and breaking up the plaque or whatever it is.... I mean we can pour CLR into our bath tubs to get rid of grime and mildew and draino to clear up our clogged sink....

My guess is it's very unlikely to be covered by anything especially since I'm 38 and would surely have to go somewhere private... I'm not sure why I feel this is so important but I would like to know....

Can I put twice the amount of high efficiency laundry detergent in my washing machine??

I have a older washing machine which is non-high efficiency.  The issue is it's very difficult to find non high efficiency laundry detergent so most of it is high efficiency nowadays.  I find HE soap and HE washing machines don't get clothes very clean.  Since my washer is old one will putting twice as much laundry detergent really work.

I am broke and out of bleach and need to do whites?

    Favorite Answer:

Borax doesn't really have a bleaching action but it does get things very clean.  I regularly use it as a laundry booster.

    Benzene in laundry detergent?

    Favorite Answer:

There is no benzene in laundry detergent.

There are benzene derived compounds called alkylbenzene sulfonates and related compounds that act as surfactants. But these are reaction products that contain no free benzene solvent. Some

people see these chemical names and have no idea that a compound is not the same thing as the individual components. They just see a recognizable word fragment in a compound name and freak out, when in fact these compounds are completely safe to use as intended.

It's the equivalent of someone refusing to eat salt (sodium chloride) because it contains two extremely harmful components: sodium, a heavy metal that explodes when it contacts water, and chlorine, a deadly choking gas that can kill within minutes.

Some manufacturers go along with public campaigns to replace ingredients like ddbsa and bsa in their cleaning products, not because they are hazardous in the product, but because they are easy to replace in the formulation, plus it's easier than trying to educate the ignorant consumers who tend to have a negative knee-jerk reaction to anything involving chemicals these days.

Is flushing toilet paper down the toilet a good thing or a bad thing?

    Favorite Answer:

It depends.  In the good ole USA, toilet paper is light and fluffy, and designed to dissolve in water.  There are no toilet paper solids in a sewer line by the next flush or packed in a septic tank.  It turns into some of the sludge the same as your solid wastes.  All fluid and flowing.  Now, in some parts of the world the toilet paper is not designed to dissolve and the plumbing systems are poor/different and not design to handle the waste water effluent, i.e. they leak.  So to keep things from clogging up, they tell you to dispose of the toilet paper in a trash can.  These places are usually the same places that consider toilet paper as a somewhat nasty way of doing things and you clean yourself with a bucket of water, and pour the water down the commode, or have a bidet.  The water users think the toilet paper users have a dirty butt.

How can I be more excited about cleaning?

When I get home from work, all I want is to eat then go to sleep. Then I wake up the next day, and I am in a rush to go to work. Then my day off comes, and all I want is to sleep all day because I am so tired. And then I never end up cleaning the house.

How to remove duct tape from windows?

    Favorite Answer:

Actually the safest and fastest way is to use a hair dryer to heat the tape.

Once the adhesive is warm, it will easily peel off.

Any remaining adhesive can then be easily removed with 90% isopropyl alcohol you can buy at any drug store

Why is my mom always trying to make me do stuff she can easily do?

I’m always having to clean up around the house because her and her grandkids leave a mess everywhere and my mother is too lazy to clean.

So she comes up to me today and tells me that the shower is filthy and I should go clean it. I told her that she should clean it herself and then we got into a fight.
