For Houstonians: Why is there no bus routes from Houston to Pearland?

The Metro 30 on Cullen Blvd goes all the way from the Northside of Houston, pass thru Downtown Houston, 3rd Ward, to the Southside of Houston then turns down Orem Dr and makes a U-Turn to come back around. Why is that??

Pearland voters opted out of METRO. They did not want to pay the extra penny sales tax and so they don't get any bus service.

Because that is the way Metro designed the route.

No bus route can go on indefinitely. There has to be fixed routes. Maybe Pearland and Houston didn't work together to get a route into their area. I simply don't know.

The citizens of Pearland voted to stay out of the metro service area.

Years ago- lots of suburban towns like Pearland, Deer Park and pasadena opted out of METRO-- now they regret it
