Can i insure and tax my car?

I have purchased a second hand car & i have sent the logbook off to get it in my name (im the new owner)

Will i have to wait for it to come back through the post or can i still insure and tax it?

    They at the insurance place will tell you.

    You have to as you can't drive without tax and insurance. The logbook can take weeks to come back.
