How did the big bang happen?
The big bang theory claims that the universe began with a big bang, how is this possible since, last time I checked, nothing doesn't tend to explode. And if something did exist before the big bang then it wasn't really the beginning.
So nobody knows how everything began?
Thanks guys. I'm a creationist now.

According to M theory, It happened when two of the generally "Parallel" but undulating "Branes" (substrates of parallel universes--ie. MEMbranes) collided with each other, ---The reaction being the "Big Bang" originating from the point of collision.

The most viable answer to this is,,,"WE DON'T KNOW".
Only speculation and intelligent conclusions.
We only know it did happen and had some far distant past when it happened.

The Big Bang theory describes the evolution of the universe after it started expanding. It does not address how or why it started expanding or came into existence.
There are many ideas about what caused the big bang, but we have no evidence for any of them. If the big bang was the first event and the beginning of time, then it had no cause. Nobody understands how this can happen.

The big bang was a colossal release of energy combined with an expansion of space-time. We don't know how or why it happened, but a huge amount of evidence suggests it did.
When we do particle collision experiments in places like CERN, we see how the release of energy gave rise to the particles in the Universe. So we absolutely know the Universe started in a high energy state and cooled.
The point is even though we don't yet have all the i's dotted or t's crossed, it doesn't change the evidence. Our Universe began with a Big Bang event. Why or how isn't clear. Saying 'god did it' is based on zero evidence.

There is no evidence for or against the universe having an infinitely long past. Physicists and philosophers remain unsure about what, if anything preceded the Big Bang. Many refuse to speculate, doubting that information from any such prior state could ever be accessible.
(One should not confuse a possible origin of the universe with the big bang. The big bang is the “expansion” of the universe and is still visibly in progress. Evidence indicates that the present expansion had a start. Sometimes the phrase big bang is used to mean the “start” of the expansion.)
