I'm doing a paper for my class on the folklore surrounding the ideas that parents can choose the baby's sex by doing something before/during conception(like the man wearing socks during sex will ensure a boy) or that they can determine the baby's sex through a non-medical test(suspend a wedding ring on a chain over the belly. If it swings back and forth, it's a girl. If it swings around in circles, it's a boy). If these myths also happen to have a regional or ethnic background to them I would love to learn that as well.
