  • How can I get my dog to calm down around other dogs?

I adopted a medium sized dog (about 30 pounds) from a pet adoption service. He is a wonderful little guy, super affectionate to people and generally very well behaved.

The problem is, when he is around other dogs that are bigger than he is, he gets very aggressive and does a lot of barking and growling (no biting however). Dogs that are the same size as him or smaller are no problem. Apparently, he was in foster care with other large dogs and they pushed him around quite a bit. Now he's developed "short man's" syndrome as a result.

Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can make him less aggressive with large dogs? He is going to be around one on Christmas, and I don't want a lot of barking and drama. Not to mention, I don't want the other dog to get aggressive in return and possibly injure my little guy.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Non-participation in your own dream?

this has been happening to me every once in a while. i will be dreaming, yet i will not be a participant. i will be an observer of things going on. the people in the dream dont seem to notice me there. its a very odd thing. sometimes i get the feeling that the dream is some sort of foretelling. i usually remember my dreams, yet these seem to be blocked from my memory. any thoughts?

  • has anyone else ever had a "demon dream"?

this occurred one night at an ex-boyfriends house. he lived there with his parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters. he & one brother had a metal band which practiced in one of the bedrooms. although it had a bed, no one usually slept there because of all the musical gear. i fell asleep in the room 1 night. i woke up suddenly & found a small evil looking thing sitting on my chest. it smelled like fire and death. it was smiling at me. i tried to move or scream but couldnt. i was finally able to close my eyes & somehow found the strength to move & throw it off of me. i opened my eyes and it was gone. needless to say i ran screaming from the room. when everyone asked what was going on, i told them. i was stunned to find that my boyfriend & his brother had both had the same thing happen to them in that room. this happened nowhere else in the house. also the dog refused to enter the room. does anyone have an opinion about this? real or dream? maybe a little of both?
