If two people walk towards a single person, coming from the opposite direction, on a narrow side walk -- who should give way ?
And does the answer tell us anything about the character of the people involved
6 AnswersLaw & Ethics3 weeks agoTranscription of gene into RNA ,and translation into amino acids ,query ?
When RNA is copied from our gene DNA , only one strand appears to be used .And it is the base sequence in that ,that is used to build amino acid chains .
But that seems to make one side / strand of our DNA ,redundant ?
What am I missing ?
2 AnswersBiology1 month agoMost blame for slavery -- the black people in Africa who originally enslaved them, or the white people that eventually owned them ?
Every black slave that was ever shipped to the Americas ,was originally enslaved by another black tribe ,in Africa. Their slavery resulted from inter tribal warfare , and such slavery was common.
Eventually , these tribes realised that their slaves were worth more ,if sold to Arab and white slavers. So eventually, many ended up being owned by white people in the Americas .Who ,today , should we most blame for this trade -- the black tribes that originally enslaved them, or the white people that eventually owned them .

Do you think Trump will accept any responsibility for what happened on that day ?
3 AnswersOther - Politics & Government2 months agoIs it really possible for the UK to meet it's ,Covid vaccine 2nd dose targets ,within 12 weeks of the first ?
The first 4 priority categories consisted of around 13 million people , all of whom had received their first vaccination by around Feb 15 .Hence they are all due to have received their second dose , by the end of April .
But whilst first vaccination numbers are running at around 500,000 a day , second dose vaccinations are running at around 25000 a day.
At that sort of rate , it will take over a year to vaccinate them , and no matter how much one might reasonably expect the 2nd .daily vaccination rate to improve , it's hard to see it meeting the 12 week limit ?
4 AnswersPolitics2 months agoShould governments be using their tax and benefit systems to discourage having more than two children .?
The world's population is out of control and global warming and loss of environment is the result .
Do governments need ,at least , to actively discourage people having more than two children through their tax and benefits systems
7 AnswersPolitics3 months agoIs the EU's attitude to UK , over Covid vaccines , akin to a bitter spouse, after a marital break up, or indicative of deeper prejudices ?
Does the EU's recent antagonism towards the UK ,over vaccine supplies , simply reflect a bitterness over the UK's departure , or does it simply reveal , the deeper and more historical prejudices, that some EU countries have always held towards the UK ? .
1 AnswerPolitics3 months agoDoes "Open Carry" have any purpose in America anymore , other than to intimidate and threaten elected administrations ?
In recent years, groups of heavily armed people -- often in "camo" uniforms and wearing scarves around their faces -- have paraded around American city streets .
They have made the US look like a dystopian third world state . Is this the America ,Americans want to live in ?.

That is ,it's trajectory is fully known from moment to moment -- it will not be found randomly "anywhere" .
5 AnswersAstronomy & Space5 months agoIs the presidential election so close because Biden has refused to take immigration concerns and BLM violence seriously ?
This election should have been a walkover for Biden and the Democrats . He was faced with a sitting president who has proved incompetent , dishonest and blatantly abusive of his power .
But instead , Biden is in a neck and neck race for the presidency .
Do you think ,like I do , that it is because Biden and the Democrats have arrogantly refused to listen to the legitimate concerns of many Americans about the impact that mass immigration his having on their lives, and also because of their supine response to the BLM movement's dishonest ,and violent exploitation, of the recent black deaths during arrest .
Had Biden and the Democrats addressed these issues honestly and publicly ,would they have got the landslide they should have ?
2 AnswersPolitics6 months ago"Observation" and the position of a particle in quantum mechanics ?
When we observe /measure the actual position of a fundamental particle ,quantum mechanics tells us that an infinitesimally small time before that , that particle could have been farther away from that observed position ,than it could have travelled , even at the speed of light .(That is the positional time function isn't continuous).
Is this simply the (aberrational) consequence of the (wave) mathematics that has been developed to describe the quantum world ,or does it actually reflect physical reality ?
