Physics Rotation Question?? 1st Year Uni?
A 41.0 kg child at a playground pushes on a 4.00 m diameter, 240. kg merry-go-round until it is spinning at 25.0 rpm. She then runs tangent to the merry-go-round at 3.10 m/s, in the same direction it is spinning, and jumps on the outer edge.
What is the angular velocity of the merry-go-round just after the child jumps on? Give your answer in rad/s.
