I am a former nurse, retired due to an accident that left me somewhat disabled. I was diagnosed in 2000 with type 2. I am on insulin due to having to take prednisone for another condition. It is the only thing that helps me control the sugar. But at 61 years of age, I feel I have a lot of life left and I try to live it to the fullest. My family supports me. My sister and brother are also diabetics so they have an understanding of what I am going through. My support system is great. I feel very fortunate to have my family, a belief in God and my life. I just hope I can help someone else with my answers. And if I seek help, I hope I get the same consideration.
