Hello! I am a professional dog trainer and behaviorist. I run training classes from puppy obedience to advanced training and CGC tests. I also work in a kennel with dogs of all sorts and volunteer at my local humane society. I am involved in both the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC). I keep up with all of the changes in the training world and the most up to date training methods. Old world training is dominance and negative reinforcement training and I steer clear of that. The new training concept is positive reinforcement. This is where the training world is headed and I do not support dominance or negative training. I have two dogs. Gerani is a 10 year old Golden Retriever. I trained her as a service dog for Canine Companions for Independence and kept her when she dropped out. Whitman is my newest puppy I adopted in Feb. '10. He's a mix I saved from the local shelter. I also have a cat Theo.
