I am a retired college professor and find some of the questions asked on this site to be of great interest. A number of my books have been published internationally, I've served on the editorial boards of professional periodicals, and I've been an officer for a number of community organizations, like the county arts council. My field is sociology, although I have knowledge of psychology, history, economics, the history of computers, and philosophy. I also enjoy mathematics, although I'm not as strong in that subject. I have a good background in language and grammar, and I enjoy helping people who are mystified by the intricacies of English. Learning is a life-long experience, and I'm open to any new information, except for user's manuals and assembly instructions.
