Do all American cellphone companies have 2yr contracts? Why do Americans keep accepting that?
I'm moving to the US and I need to buy a cellphone, so I was searching for American phone companies and I saw that if I buy an AT&T phone I have to sign a 2yr contract, and if I choose to leave it I must pay, it's not really expensive, but anyway.
In Brazil the cellphone companies can't keep people from leaving their services for another company at any time they feel like it, and you can also keep your number. I was really surprise by this restriction because I've always seen the US as a country with great consumer policies.
