How is my singing?
2 AnswersSinging7 years agoPOLL: If she told me this, does that mean she's lazy or supportive?
So, the situation is:
I asked to collab with this other YouTuber and planned we were going to write this song together.
I sent her the lyrics and audio, and she really liked it: "This is so good, are you sure you want to collab with me?"
Does this mean she's lazy or supportive with this song I'm about to write?

6 AnswersPolls & Surveys8 years agoIf people says they love your singing voice?
Does that mean you're a great singer?
I've been told throughout whenever I sing (been singing for about 3 years now) the comments I get:
You're really good!
You sound like a real singer! (As in, like stuff from the radio type of voice)
You sound like a pro singer! (Both strangers and friends said this, but I rarely believe this)
(And often from girls) I love your voice!
(Another variation) I could listen to you all day!
(Another variation) I'd buy your CD!

6 AnswersSinging8 years agoMain characters in West Side Story?
The musical. Characters with decent lines and solo songs/lines in songs, not chorus.
1 AnswerTheatre & Acting8 years agoIs Les Miserables suitable for children under 5 years old?
I am taking my children to see Les Miserables, and am already aware of the story and the musical numbers. They have never seen it before, so is it suitable for children?
Thank you!
7 AnswersPerforming Arts8 years agoFinally after one year of singing lessons...have I improved?
So, after working like crazy and practising like crazy (xD) I wanted to ask if I've improved after one year of Singing Success.
Here's both an before and after video (all in one btw):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxcnaQyX6jU
Also, here's a playlist which contains 4 tracks, one before and three after:

All of the tracks in the playlist are all also one year after.
So tell if I've improved and what you think!
Singing1 decade agoHow about a Tenacious D musical...?
I seem to notice that Tenacious D has a style that actually fits the musical genre, in terms of how it's sang and played. But this is more than just a poll really... so do you think that Tenacious D should become a musical?
2 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoCan't relax while singing...?
I'm having the worst time ever at the moment. High notes and singing in particular are not the major issue. My vocal coach tells me to relax, but the terms they give me were too vauge.
The bad thing about me is that I overthink and tense up, which cuts my performance quality in half. For example, this morning I was singing and rehearsing, I was just focusing on the words of the song, I just sang naturally. It was easy, nearly effortlessly, and NEVER painful. I even sounded pleasant and good.
Then this afternoon, I was overthinking. Always thinking "my diaphragm is not moving, breathe" and "You're flat or you're sharp" when I'm not. This also made singing harder than usual, and more effort was required. I was even singing the same song I did in the morning which was easy but now hard because I was overthinking!
What can I do to make myself relax while singing?
1 AnswerSinging1 decade agoLarynx position when singing?
So, to keep it short, I've been singing for nearly a year.
Been studying frequently with a singing program (which is awesome) and I have a vocal coach who nearly teaches the same thing (Speech Level Singing).
Anyway, a high larynx is bad, because the larynx is not supposed to be used for high notes. So in neutral (no activity on my voice), my larynx is near my neck.
When I sing, or sing scales, my larynx moves little. So when I sing a note, my larynx does move, but it's actually the same position as I talk. When I swallow, my larynx disappears in my neck, so it's not the same position as I talk. So am I actually singing in speech level? Or is my larynx is still too high?
Sometimes, I do feel a little muscle tension on my neck, but that's only sometimes. And yes, I do need to work on breath support, and stop being tense when singing.
2 AnswersSinging1 decade agoA question about singing and improvement?
I went on a singing program which really improved my voice by A MILE!
I sometimes doubt, unable to believe it. But i'll learn.
My question is, does improving a lot equal to the level of skill or not. (eg beginner, pro, etc.)
1 AnswerSinging1 decade agoVocal inconsistency? Having a bad vocal day today...?
OK, today, I just had went to my singing program I got, and just like any singer, I'm facing a bad vocal day. I sound bad even though in the past I sounded good. Now if I just rest, it helps a lot. But how long will this last? And what else can I do if I'm having this bad vocal day.
1 AnswerSinging1 decade agoHow to split the resonance when singing?
I've been stuggling and trying to figure out how to do that...it's really driving me crazy. I can't keep my larynx low or relaxed without raising, coz you know, if it gets too high up my throat, that's bad. Plus, I don't how to "split your resonance" to find your mix.
So is there any tips or excersises that can do that coz I'm doing the Brett Manning Singing Success programme.
