Would you be amenable to a fair tax rate, a percentage equally shared by everyone?
Even if it means you would not get the tax breaks you personally get now and you, therefore, might have to pay more for federal income taxes.
11 AnswersPolitics10 years agoDid the British shrug off the shot heard round the world as a firecracker?
like the Democrats and news media are dismissing the impact of a Republican Senator being elected in Massachusetts? Let's hope someone was listening. I prefer a bloodless return to a democratic republic.
6 AnswersElections1 decade agoIs the following a good example of a Republican/Democratic conversation?
A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat and shouted at him. "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."
The man consulted his GPS and replied, "Yes, you're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above ground level, elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are located at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude."
She rolled her eyes and said,"You must be a Republican."
"I am", replied the man, "How did you know?"
"Well", answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I am still lost. Frankly, you haven't been much help to me."
The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Democrat."
"I am", replied the balloonist,"How did you know?"
"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you are going. You've risen to where you are due to a high quantity of hot air. You made a promise you can't keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now it's my fault."

14 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIsn't it interesting how Obama keeps saying he isn't going to raise taxes on the middle class, but?
he supports raising taxes on our consumer items and wants to limit charitable contributions for tax deductions? I don't know about you, but these policies will mean automatic increases in the our taxes.
4 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoYA participants are very vocal, are you all registered voters, who exercise their right to vote?
I know the last election didn't go the way I had hoped. But I also know discontented Americans that don't vote. Even the primaries can make a difference. It doesn't take that long and it is better than a open revolt. The first revolution was over,"no taxation without representation." We can only blame ourselves if we do not at least vote.
19 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoDoes anyone know what kind of reasoning allows for federal employees to opt out of Social Security?
The practice seems unfair since I don't have a choice. And the people that are regulating social security don't have a stake in it.
It also would add money to SS coffers if the federal employees had to enroll.
