Hi, I am an female, "Adult American", over that nasty age women can't quite pronounce:) You know, the NEW thirty:) I have two sons, both grown, one married to a wonderful girl. Somehow I wound up with 4 dogs, a wonderful man, a great business partner and Multiple Sclerosis. I'm thinking the good offset the bad in my life so far, and I'm only half done!!! Now I am just trying to get back on track with the changes to my lifestyle I'm facing. The challenges are very high but so far I am coping well. We are planning a new home, making changes to accommodate my possible mobility problems of the future. I want a loft so my honey has designed a lift to the upper floor. He also jokes he's putting in a slide to get me down again. Ha!! In the meantime, I can still work between attacks. I am by trade a seamstress. Also when it's not to hot out, I can still go sailing. Wheee!!! Life is fine when you want it to be! Have a happy day!!! One of them at a time make a lifetime eventually.

  • Do you know this online dog community/group?

Last year I joined a dog lovers group and have lost the link and cannot get the name correct to find it again. The site was for dog lovers of all breeds to connect and chat and most importantly they would post an amber alert for lost dogs for you. Does anyone know this group? I need to post a lost dog on the site and simply cannot find them to do so.

The forum actually has the dogs talking or "barking" to each other instead of the owners (very cute if your a dog person). You can post pictures of your pets and view others pet photos as well. The term "so and so has barked at you" usually announces you have mail.

    Thanks.

  • Does Yahoo deduct points in Answers when you ask a question?

I asked a question and a -5 came up on my score. What's up with that nonsense?

Just curious. Sign in if you are still alive and fit the above.

  • Malfunctioning Dell Axim Touch Screen?

The touch screen on my friends Dell Axim is not responding to touch on the screen. You can switch between screens using the keys at the bottom of the unit but the screen only gives you the start menu pull down when you touch anything. If the screen is down, a second touch closes the menu.

This is all you can do as there is no apparent way to do anything else. Is this a dead touch screen or missing files?

  • Spelling on the Internet is atrocious. Why?

Are the people who appear not to be able to spell really not capable or are they just too lazy to be bothered with correcting their typing mistakes? Do schools not teach spelling now? But more importantly, why has being ignorant become something to be proud of?

This is a serious question, so please refrain from the usual deliberate idiotic misspellings.

  • Can you carry a Dish Receiver like you can Direct TV?

My friend wants to carry a satellite dish with him to tail gate parties. I used to have Direct TV, but now I have Dish Network. Can Dish be carried? Also, with Dish, I have only one receiver for the entire house vs the two I had with Direct TV. This means if he takes it on the road, I have no TV. Also Dish requires a hard phone line connects which would be lost on the road. Anyone have any idea how to make this work during football season? We only have a week to figure this out for him.

    Thanks

  • A realistic list of purine free foods?

I have recently been diagnosed with gout. The lists online are some what confusing, the only one food all agree on is that cherries are good for you, helping to prevent gout or help relieve an attack.

Almost all sites say no whole grains, but don't specify which grains. Apparently rice is not bad? Corn? Barley? Asparagus is a big no-no as is cauliflower. Since I am allergic to apples, my fruit (aka fiber) intake is becoming quite condensed.

After 4 weeks of no beef, dried beans, the above mentioned veggies and a ton of cherries, I can walk almost pain free.

The only bad side affect has been I have developed some thing odd in my brain that causes me to pass out. There are "barrier receptors" in the brain that tell your heart to pump more oxygen when needed and mine are malfunctioning due to be semi-sedentary for so long before the gout was diagnosed (app 3 months). I fall down, a lot.

Anyone have any lists of approved foods or info about this barrier brain receptor thing?

    Thanks
