  • Can 3DS and DSi owners befriend each other?

I just bought a 3DS and have no friends as of now (go easy on the forever alone jokes), but I know some people with DSi systems. Can I give them my friend code and add them as friends?

  • Tips on writing classical music?

I've been trying to write some classical sounding things, as neoclassical metal and classical music have become a recent fascination of mine. I know that the melodic, harmonic, and natural minor scales can be used effectively in writing classical style music, but I was just wondering if anyone knew any other tips such as scales or chord progressions that they would like to pass on. I'd be eternally grateful :D

    My favorite classical artists are:

    Vivaldi

    Bach

    Yngwie Malmsteen

early Children Of Bodom (Hatebreeder era)

  • Why are Beats by Dre so popular?

So everyone knows they headphones: Beats by Dre. Sure, they are pretty good headphones in my opinion. I've listened through better headphones. However, hundreds of people at my school have them, and my best friend has been freaking out because she just bought herself a pair (more like used her parents' money). In my opinion, they are WAY overpriced. I have a pair of Sony headphones that were on sale for like 20 bucks that are almost just as good, except for the noise isolation and volume. So I would like to know why everyone has to have Beats by Dre, despite the fact that there are better and cheaper headphones out there.

Oh, and also this. Why do kids who know nothing about music and don't listen to it very often who get Beats have to get Beats Pro? Aren't Beats Pro meant for producers and engineers who actually need the extra extreme quality?

  • Is there a guitar distortion pedal that sounds like the "Insane" setting on a Spider III amp?

I'm an amateur metal recording artist. I record with my amp, a 30W Line 6 Spider III. I absolutely LOVE the sound of the Insane channel when tweaked right. I love how there's a great crunchy low end/rhythm sound, but when I crank the mid/bass, I get a KILLER lead tone. However, the output on my amp is broken (it buzzes a lot), and my room where I record has terrible acoustics and I don't know enough about mics to be able to mic my amp. Since the speaker still works and I can still play fine when nothing is plugged into the output, I was thinking about getting a pedal. Is there a pedal that can give me a good rhythm AND lead tone?

I kinda had this sound going: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siHZ5zX1vXA&context...

Also, if it could sound like any of these recordings, it would be great:

Children Of Bodom - Not My Funeral: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TD07xZmWGvI

    Norther - We Rock: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yQ-REfn6Ao

    Ensiferum - Twilight Tavern: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eisifD8OYgQ

It doesn't have to be EXACTLY like those tones, but I would like it to be in that kind of zone. I would like it to sound as close as possible to the first link (my song).

    THANKS :D
