I'm 17. I'm not allowed any form of online friends, even though I'm full time online schooled + rarely get to leave the house and thus have almost no way to meet new people. If I made online friends and was caught talking to them on things like discord in the past my mom would take away all my electronics. Is this normal/healthy? It feels like she is trying to isolate me. 

She doesn't let me dye or cut my hair, get things like piercings, wear makeup casually, or anything like that despite me being nearly 17. I can't stand to spend another year and a half feeling hideous because I can't do anything to feel like myself. 

I've been pierced before and know how to care for them. I'd also be the one paying and everything. I would just dye my hair but she absolutely refuses to let me. 

I'm 16 and my parents and I just don't get along. I'd rather avoid them and save up to move our the day I turn 18 than constantly fight them. Any tips? 

I'm 16. My mom refuses to call me by any nickname or name that I choose, and instead refers to me only as "the child". I've hated my birth name since I was little and now that I'm out as trans I desperately want to use my chosen name. How can I go about changing my name? 

I don't expect her to pay anything towards it, but I'm 16 so I need her to co-sign. I'm currently using a Samsung s9 which goes from full battery to the low twenties in only an hour, and can barely be used off-charger. 

I'm sixteen and simply can't afford to buy a phone outright. I need a phone that is more reliable than my old Samsung because I'm constantly struggling to get mine to load things and send messages. I can only afford ~$110 a month, so I'm looking at iPhones and seeing that I could afford the monthly payment. Could I make my own account? 

I'm a sophomore in Tennessee. I am failing my classes due to the huge workloads of remote learning and am constantly miserable during the school year. The only time I'm able to climb from the pits of my depression is during summer break. How can I escape this hell? 

I'm in an online-only school and COVID is still bad here in America. Five days straight of 3-4 hours of in person testing with possible COVID exposure doesn't seem safe. What can I do? 

I can't afford to replace it, but I need it for school. 

My brightness stays low, very few apps running, Bluetooth off, ect 

I can't ask my mom for help paying because she doesn't have it. I want an iPad Air, a macbook pro, and an iPhone yo facilitate synced work on my drawing, sound design, and photography work. Along with this, I'm saving for an older model Canon EOS T3 to upgrade from my current Moto G cellphone camera. Tips on saving money on tech are huge because I don't make much money! Please don't tell me to get a Windows device, as the software I want to use isn't available on windows OS. 

I am fifteen years old and my mother has repeatedly used slurs against me for being LGBT as well as insulting me and even refusing to let me cook and eat on family dishware. It's obvious I'm unwanted here. What are my options? 

I've always wondered because I know it's illegal for a runaway teen to stay with a friend, is it legal to stay with family? Or in a case of joint custody, is it legal to stay with the other custodian? 

I am turning 16 next week. I don't like parties or having house guests, but my mom invited family and planned an event anyway, even though I asked her not to. I really wanted to spend the day enjoying some TV and eating my favorite meal. Is there any escape from this? 

Homeschool is not an option for my family and my district is doing MANDATORY in person classes. I'm immunocompromised with a heart condition. How do I get out of putting myself in a cesspool? 

School has always been intensely horrible for my mental health, however, with the added pandemic I don't think I could push myself through this year. I already end up with depression throughout the school year. Therapy and medication have not worked for me in the past, and with me being immunocompromised I feel it would be best to take a gap year, especially with my mental health currently being at an all-time high. Is there any way to do this?
