I'm 26 years old, double majored Psychology and Accounting. I currently work at Starbucks as a Barista, and I am an ordained Interfaith Minister, a Notary Public. and an Election Board Official. (Yes, I really do all that lol) I hope to be of some help on here :)

  • Is helping someone do their taxes considered unauthorized practice of law?

I just became a Notary Public and Im confused on the concept of Unauthorized Practice of Law (which Notaries may not ever do obviously).

I realize many parts of unauthorized practice are obvious (such as representing someone in court, telling someone what to do in a legal situation etc, but other things aren't to me it seems...

For example I am not an accountant or attorney but I am very good at helping people file taxes. I don't ever charge anything for it but now that I am a Notary it specifically says I cannot prepare any legal documents for anyone.

Are tax returns considered legal documents? If so, must I now refuse to help people file them even though I don't charge for them?

  • Are all Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurances the same?

I get my insurance through my employer which is based in Seattle so I get Washington's which is Premera BCBS, but I live in New Jersey whose BCBS is Horizon.

If a place here in NJ says they accept Horizon BCBS will they also accept mine even though it's Premera BCBS?

  • Car tapped me while I was turning left while going past me. Am I at fault?

I was turning left and the car behind me began to drive around me, but then I changed my mind and went straight. But the car that was passing me then tapped me while going past, then drove away. Their fault or mine?

  • Is this sexual harassment?

If someone says to you, "I dont know why you dont talk to me, you're so awesome, I just want a bit of that awesomeness! :)"

Is that sexual harassing someone, or just being an annoying pest?

  • What prevents people from understanding how HIV is transmitted?

Im honestly trying to understand this...

Everyone thinks you could get HIV from saliva, from sharing food, from touching things that HIV positive people have touched.

I understand HIV is a serious medical condition, Im not saying it's not, but I mean, c'mon!

HIV is a bloodborne virus. Only blood and fluids which have components of blood (semen, breastmilk, vaginal fluids) can it survive in. Therefore, if you have not had an exchange of any of those fluids, its impossible to be infected.

How is that not simple to understand?

  • "Dating" a closeted gay man?

Hey, so I have been seeing this guy. I know he really is in to me, and I am into him. He admitted that he has feelings for me, and I do for him. Things seemed to be going very well. Until, he told me quite recently, that he doesnt want a relationship with another guy, stating that the reason is because he "doesnt know how he feels about that".

My question is, could this just be a phase of his? Coming out, I mean. Or that a relationship would never be likely? I am not sure, I've never dated someone in the closet before, I was under the assumption that as long as we stay on the down low, he would be okay, especially because, me and him have slept together before a few times. Please help, thanks

  • Music Playlist for "End of the World" party?

So a few years ago, I told all my friends and everyone I know, that on December 21st going into December 22nd, Im going to have a big "end of the world" party!

No, I do not believe the world will end, thats the point of this party going into the next day!

Thing is, for the music at the party, I want to have songs that have like an "end of the world" theme to them. I already have "Till the world ends" by Britney Spears, and "End of the world as we know it" by REM. What else do you think we could add to the list?

  • Is the Statue of Liberty actually in New Jersey?

I hear people saying that the statue of liberty is actually in New Jersey. At first, I did not believe this, but as you can see from this image: http://laughitoff.wikispaces.com/file/view/New+Pic...

It shows the line between New Jersey and New York on the Hudson River and Harbor and Liberty Island (where the statue is located) is on the side that says New Jersey.

  • Does deviating from basic strategy actually change the game for the other players at the table?

Or is it just a myth?

See, not too long ago, I went to Atlantic City and gambled for the first time at a blackjack table. Now, growing up, I always played the game as "get as close to 21 as possible" whereas, once I went into the casinos, my dad told me about "basic strategy".

Now in this particular example, I was sitting at the the table with like 3 other people, and I had a 14, the dealer was showing a 5. I remembered the basic strategy that Im not supposed to hit, but I absent mindedly took a hit by mistake. It ended up being a 6, which was 21, and I won the hand in the end, but one of the other players was complaining that I "messed up" his hand. Thing is, he had 11. If he took a hit or doubled down, he would have gotten that 6, which puts him at 17, (the dealer ended up having a 19).

So, Im finding it hard to believe that hitting outside of basic strategy would mess up everyone's cards, but thats what I was told, are there any professional or experienced gamblers who could answer this for me?

  • Who says people have to APPROVE of same-sex marriage?

Who died and made them the boss? Telling me that I cant get married because it violates your religious beliefs is like me trying to tell someone that they cant eat donuts because it violates my diet.

  • What makes people overreact?

About a few months ago, I found out that I was HIV positive. A lot of friends I know have reacted in a very ignorant manner to this. One of them doesn't even want to hug me anymore because he's afraid he will catch it. When I reminded him you cannot get it that way, his literal response was, "I know, but it's still possible." when I was upset about this, he told me that I don't care about his health.

Then I was on here a few hours ago and this woman said she went to get HIV tested and she brought her son there and she said that he had a scrape on his hand and he touched a table and she's worried that somehow HIV magically jumped from the biohazard box onto the table and infected her son. Numerous people tried to explain to her that this was not possible, but she cannot get over her fear, and I feel sorry for her son because she said she's making him go through HIV testing over and over, and the poor thing is only 3 years old (according to her).

These are just 2 of several experiences I've come into contact with. I would LOVE to know what drives people to overreact so much. I understand that HIV is a very real concern, but there are ways you can catch it and ways you can't. Certainly there HAS to be a reason for all this, you would think so many people wouldn't be uneducated about this, it is 2012 not 1980. I'm genuinely curious to know what drives people this way.

  • Does this sound like a false positive?

So, about a month ago, I got the results from a Western Blot test saying that I am HIV positive. They made me go for a follow up testing to determine my viral load, my T-cell count, complete blood count and white blood cell count.

My viral load was undetectable, my T-cell count was 700 (which is within the normal range), and my complete blood count and white blood cell count were both normal.

The last time I had any sex though, was last Aprill (of 2011). So, I would say that maybe I just started seroconverting, maybe thats why my white blood cell count is normal, but that doesnt explain why my viral load is undetectable. One would assume that if I was infected 8 months before being tested that my viral load would be out of control. Or I could also say that my body is keeping a good hold on the virus by itself, but that doesnt explain why my white blood cell count is normal.

The doctor, when he got these results tells me that none of this makes sense and ordered another HIV test to be sure, (this would be my 3rd one, after the initial rapid blood test, and the confirmatory Western Blot, both of which were positive).

Is it possible that there could be a lab error with my other Western Blot? Or if I am positive, then how does it make sense? Im just looking for closure at this point whether Im positive or not, especially when the last person I did anything with back in April, I did use a condom.

  • Real friends, accept you even though you are HIV+?

I just found out not too long ago, that I have HIV. All my friends are coming to my support. They're there for me, they love me, and I could not ask for more from them. They have always accepted me no matter what. But there is this one friend, who insists on shunning me. He wont hang out with me, because he's afraid he'll catch it. He says he knows that his fears are irrational, but he says he needs time to accept it. All my other friends didnt "need time", and most of them never knew someone who had HIV before I told them.

This friend, he says that all he needs is time. Part of me is like, "Ok, well if he needs time, then I should give it to him, he'll cme around" but another part of me is like, "If he's my friend, he'll accept me no matter what, and wont treat me any differently".

So I dont know, what am I supposed to do?

  • False positive, on rapid HIV Test?

Im really scared. This past Tuesday, we had Rapid HIV Testing at our school, the one where they take blood from the finger. The result was "preliminary positive", they had to draw a vial of blood and the results from that will be in any day to either confirm or refute the "preliminary positive". But the thing is this: the line in the test area was so faint, you can barely see it. The tester explained to me that it was most likely a very recent exposure and thats why the line is so faint. But the last time I had sex was over 6 months ago, which would have been plenty of time for me to start seroconverting, the line would have been darker, no? And also, the last person I had sex with is now in a relationship, and he got tested in October to enter the relationship, and the test was negative. Lastly, I've had an ear infection (I think) for the last week. I didnt get it looked at, but its very painful, I know its an ear infection. Could this be a false positive? Especially cuz of my ear? Maybe the antibodies for my ear is what caused the reaction? I dunno, Im just scared, I always used protection, I dunno how this could happen...

  • Is it normal for the left blinker to go on after making a right turn suddenly?

When I turn my right blinker on, and make a sharp quick right turn, and the wheel goes back, the left blinker turns on. I know Im not hitting the blinker because one time, I purposely left my left hand off the wheel to find out.

Im not sure if its the force of the wheel return, or what...but someone told me that thats normal. It only happens when I turn quickly though, if I dont turn suddenly and the wheel return is slower, it doesnt happen.

  • Why do opponents of same-sex marriage, always say...?

"You're not being denied any rights, everyone has the right to marry someone of the opposite sex?"

When obviously, gay people do not like members of the opposite sex? Its like, telling a straight man, that he can only marry a specific type of girl, and when he complains that he wants the right to marry any girl he chooses, telling him that he's not being denied any rights, because he already has the right to marry a girl of that type

I mean, I suppose you can force yourself to marry someone you dont really like...but then, what kind of marriage is that?

  • When someone blushes when you smile at them, does that mean they like you?

There's this guy I go to school with and work with. He is gay, but up to this point, I havent known for sure if he likes me. He never gave any explicit like or dislike for me, and up until now, I've only had vague suspicions. Until today, he looked at me, and I looked at him smiled. Then he gulped, looked away for a minute, then looked back at me, and still smiling, he started blushing and covered his face.

Does that mean he likes me? Or maybe he just felt nervous that I was looking at him. I dunno, drawing a blank lol

  • Do you ever feel sorry for the trolls on here?

One just asked a "question" and in it he asked if there was anything better than a gay person killing themselves. Then he said that if we keep reporting him, he'll keep posting new things. I reminded him that they'll delete his account if enough of his stuff gets reported. And his reply was that he will just keep creating new accounts.

Ok, so this person is going to keep recreating new accounts to troll Yahoo Answers. Now I love this site, but I dont come on here as often as I used to because I have college and work. So if someone is just going to keep recreating new accounts to harass people, obviously they have nothing better to do. I actually sometimes feel sorry for them, that its more important to attempt to make others miserable than to actually do something with their life.

I dunno, what does everyone else think?

  • So the world's ending next Saturday...help me pick a house?

So conservatively, extremist, religious people are saying that the world is going to end next Saturday. They're also the same people who say that all gay people are going to hell. Soooo, then prompts the question, what kinda house do you think I should buy for my new address down there? Im not sure if houses are any like they are here on earth. Maybe they're different in hell, I dunno...or do you think that maybe, like, there will be apartments I could rent at a really good price? Or do you think Im going to have to sell my soul just a little bit more to get that good price?

Whatever the case, I just need to decide before then because I dont wanna be homeless down there, like Im almost up here...hmm, do you think they have the same economy down there, either? Oh and um, do you think it'll be that bad down there? Or since maybe no "hate the sin, love the sinner" religious people are down there, that maybe everybody can be at peace?

  • Does the following linear equation system, have a solution?

    7x + 3y = 3

    3x + 2y = 18

I would think not because the y's are the same in both sets, and the only way for the TOP one to be true is if y is 1 and x is zero, but that certainly cannot be the case the the bottom one.

But I thought I would just check?
