Dear speakers of Urdu and Hindi on Yahoo Answers, It is thanks to the selflessness and prompt generosity of certain Indian, Pakistani, Canadian, and American nationals that I have been able to collect and correct the linguistic data needed to complete and submit a doctoral thesis. WIth many of these priceless souls, I have only had contact through this forum. With most, I have had no personal correspondance, and I do not even know their names or whereabouts -only that they pitched in, right in the nick of time, time & time again. This ordeal is far from over. Once submitted, a thesis must be defended. The preparation for a spirited defense can be a mind-numbing task. In fact it makes me miss the days and nights of impassioned search and discovery, and all of my friends here who so swiftly arbitred, translated, and commented each new Hindi grammar conundrum.
