Being Aspergic, I like being on my own but am endlessly fascinated by other people and cultures (learning about them, not meeting them). I have a thirst for learning and love to be immersed in the sciences. As my Avatar (Elflaeda; I'm Elaine) suggests, I love science fiction and wish I was in the position to give you a guided tour of my starship. Miss Barbosa (Elflaeda's surname) is wearing a Vampiral dress which is to show that I think I'm a little of a mystery and in real life, people do seem to think that I'm strange, odd, weird - but in a good way. At her feet of course, we have a representation of Jet, my 14 year old cat. He is my significant other. I asked him if he wanted to be a baby elephant or a polar bear but I didn't get a reply so I got as close as I could. Of course, he can't wag his stump (he only has half a tail, long story). There should be a facility where you can have your avatar talking as I do tend to be a little on the verbose side.
Will you be watching Children In Need?
And if so, will you be donating? I might pledge but they'll have to wait a week for it until I get paid.

that this isn't a question? It's an apology. I've asked some questions today but I think they'll all go to voting. I hate not giving best answers out, that's half the fun and it's a reward for those of you who answer but I'm back at work tomorrow night until Sunday morning (obviously not continuously but I will be sleeping most of Friday and Saturday) and since it's Bank Holiday Monday, I won't be able to get to a computer until Tuesday at the earliest and it'll be too late by then. Sorry everyone.

I cried yesterday. I knew Jet is dying; he's 17 in two weeks but it's one thing to suspect and quite another to stand in front of the vet and discuss time scales (a month or two), how they will euthanise him and whether to bring him home or not ..... There's no question about that, he's going to lie in his favourite sunny spot in the garden for ever.
