[Formerly known as: Techno Sherpa] I am a software engineer/data tier architect. I view everything analytically; I prefer things that can be scientifically proven, or at the very least, substantiated with empirical fact. Logic in its purest forms cannot be denied. I like efficiency and elegance, the perfect balance between function and form. It takes extra effort, but to me it's well worth it. I get a lot of job satisfaction making processes faster with better design. To improve something's performance by an order of magnitude (iow, make it 10x faster) changing only instructions to the machine is a rush! My hobbies include sailing, diving, hanging-out with my Shelties, crossbow hunting, and trying to make my tiny niche a better place for me, without coloring outside the lines. I like to laugh at all the stupidity around me, if I couldn't laugh I'd go insane -- assuming I'm not already, of course! :-)
