My girlfriend and I decided to take a break for awhile at the beginning of this year. We have been seeing each other casually for dates and stuff like that.

I have treated her EXTREMELY well the entire time: taking her shopping @ all the trendy stores, putting up with her disrespect, bringing flowers, romantic things, paying her rent, .. the list goes on.

I have given her an option of me going on or whether she wants me to wait. I don't think she's seeing anyone else seriously, just friends, nothing beyond plutonic.

My question is a matter of your opinion, how long would you wait? That is, what is the maximum time you would put into a relationship that hasn't really gone anywhere with someone you deeply loved?
