I took the Tickle tests Classic IQ test over the internet, and according to the website, I have an IQ of 118, and that was when I took the test at age 12. I also read that 110-119 is considered high average, or 16.6% of the population. It is, of course, impossible (well, not impossible, but highly improbable) that my IQ, at age 12, would be anything higher than average (90-109, 50% of the population). So which was wrong: the fact that 110-118 is considered high average, or the website Tickle Tests?

I do read extremely well, and I do get good grades in reading, composition, history, and spelling. My math grades are a joke, as well as my grammar and science grades. The IQ test I am talking about is the one that shows the internet ad banners with questions such as "Which eye color is most common?" and "Which of these creatures does not belong?"

i also took that similar test and score 122 of IQ, but do i really think i'm that smart? I'm smart but not a genious. so i'll probably say that to enjoy being considered high average because i know other people who took it and their score was low, but in this case these people are really morons.
Well I have no idea what the tickle tests IQ test is, or what its technical characteristics are, so I have no real way to judge the test. Now, you suggest that it is "improbable" that your IQ is greater than average. It is actually not that improbable; over 50% of people have an IQ higher than 100 (or above average--think about it....). If we knew more about the technical characteristics of the test (one of the reasons that web-based IQ tests aren't all that well thought of--because you don't really know how it was developed and who it was normed on) we could actually come up with a probability rating of how likely your score would "really" fall within the high average range.
But, we don't, so how could you verify this for yourself? Well, IQ is really a measure or a "prediction" of how easy school would be for you. How do you do in your school work? Get good grades? Things come pretty easy to you? Do you read pretty easily? What do your parents/teachers think of your academic ability? (It is important to separate out here how you do in school from whether you like school or whether you are interested in it or whether you are motivated by it).
One thing that makes me think you are probably at least in the high average range is your question. Carefully look at how you wrote your question. It is a complex question, but your question is carefully expressed. You explain why you believe that your question is a valid one. You use proper capitalization and punctuation. You remember the details of the test report. This is probably the best written question I've seen on here in the past few weeks! Take a look at one or two dozen of the other questions people write on here.
I'm not familiar with this particular test, but you need to remember that an IQ test measures your "intelligence quotient," not your general knowledge. It's entirely possible that as a twelve year old you scored in the "above average" category.
Keep in mind, though, that most (if not all) tests found on the internet need to be taken with a grain of salt.
