high paid criminals, embezzlers, leeches (blood suckers), magots, parasites, prostitutes (who persecute and prosecute), robbers and thieves, etc.?
Just wondering.

To answer sithviolet's question, no, I am a lawyer.
I agree with Loss_Leader, but his answer is to idealistic and a bit defensive.
I got this question from http://www.familyrightsassociation.com/bin/THINKING/practicing_law_without_a_license.htm. Whoever wrote the article has a few issues to work on.
Any more opinions, because I am almost ready to choose a best answer?

Typically they are using their best knowledge of how to use the law to defend a case that their client brings them. If you are on the wrong side of that case it can suck. If you are on the right side of the case you love that lawyer. Especially if you've been screwed so many times without using one.
All lawyers do is use their knowledge of law to help achieve the goals of their clients. Remember that every lawsuit brought is brought because a client wanted it. And most every lawsuit has a lawyer on the other side defending it. If a lawyer tries to work the system, take advantage of clients or use lawsuits to force settlements, he will quickly be brought to bar by the attorneys on the other side of his cases.
If you wouldn't accuse a doctor of infecting patients just to treat them, don't accuse lawyers of manipulating clients just to bill them.
I don't think so but mine is handsome, debonair, smart, tall, tan, strong, muscular, eloquent, has nice teeth, has good judgement, good taste, knows how to fix the cable tv, knows how to hook up electronics, mows the lawn, keeps himeslf clean, looks good in a suit, drives a nice car, and smells like Paul Sebastian. And he keeps me warm at night.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, although lawyers are all the things you listed, they are also much, much worse.
Furthering, in reality they are also traitors of the people, colluding and collaborating with the enemy of the people to exploit and manipulate them for their diabolical desires.
BE ADVISED they truely are complete frauds in regards to their profession. As a result, I find it no coincidence that their name is so, so similar to "liars" and insist that this is actually the correct pronounciation .
So what you're saying is you're a defense attorney who resents the prosecutors who are doing their job to put your scum bag criminal clients behind bars?
