How is a tiebreaker determined in a fantasy sports playoff?

I was first in my basketball league, and I was ahead by like 15 games. When the playoffs began, I had the first round bye. Second round came, it ended in a 4-4-1 tie. And then they had me in the consolation game - as if I had lost it. But I checked the records, and I won the first matchup in the season against my opponent, and tied the second, so you'd think by virtue of win/tie, I'd have the breaker. What gives, Yahoo?
