I want to reinforce a split seam on an old car seat. It doesn't have to look great, just hold it together and keep the stuffing from falling out.

Duct tape doesn't last long and leaves a gooey residue when it comes off.

Leather has oils in it . Nothing will hold it except needle and thread. Buy an inexpensive upholstery needle and nylon thread(heavy duty)and stitch it together.
RE: What kind of tape best sticks to leather? I want to reinforce a split seam on an old car seat. It doesn't have to look great, just hold it together and keep the stuffing from falling out.
I personally did the Gorilla Tape thing 2x on my SAS shoe....... keeps coming off. It sticks to everything else, but will not hold on the leather. Has to be the oil in the leather. Sticking bonded leather onto something uses the fabric on the inside, but real leather - especially where it has been polished.......... leather patch, needle and thread.
DUCT TAPE works wonders with everything! Try it. People use it to tape theire car windows up, so im sure it will hold the stuffing in your car chair ;)
