Because most of the Radio Stations are owned by Clear Channel which owns record labels and they only play music from the bands they sell records. It's all about money. Welcome to America.

Because of the same reason that you don't listen to your Dad or Mom's music. Don't get me wrong I love Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, and Blue Oyster Cult, but this generation have defined their own tastes and preferences. I do not like most of the new bands today, but there are some that I like
Godsmack, Evanescence, and Three Doors Down that even list there influences as some of the bands that played in the seventies and early eighties. Everyone has their own tastes, but try and give some of the new bands a chance they might surprise you or you may never like them; which is okay also.

You have to remember, there is a new generation out there. The good ole bands still rock within the older generations. We just have to listen to them on tape. :)
