professional const. workers only please?

In 15 yrs in the industry I have only used one hammer. Craftsman, I have a 20 oz. fiberglass frammer, now Craftsman has dicontinued ALL framing hammers and I would like your input on a real good hammer since I can no longer replace mine. I do not like steel shafts so Estwing are out and I do not want to spend $250 on a Stilletto.Thank you

After 20 yrs ALL I use is a Vaughn 20oz. with a hickory handle.I use it for finish and framing. The handles usually last a couple of years.
I don't like estwings either and the new Fiberglas/titanium just don't feel right to me,their too light.
But in the end it comes down to what feels good to you
Good luck

i frame and i love my death stick it sings no vibration 21oz its great i also use a smooth face 21 oz dead on deck master for finish... its all i will ever buy. i used to swing a vaughn and it was too heavy and make my elbows hurt but they're cheap.. you can pick up a death stick for like 20... but make sure to keep a spare handle for it i break quite a few, but vaughn handles work in them.. i also had a deluge and i broke handles like once a month i hated it but the face on it was huge and it was light i think 20 oz... good luck on finding the right hammer

I never liked steel shafts until I tried an Estwing, and now that's all I use.

Adding my two cents. Flea Markets and garage sales for the older, better versions. (If you have the time and I mean a lot of time)
