I heard a song on the radio a while back and it was about a man that died in the war and left a letter in the glovebox of his car saying please take care of his car and that his spirit will be riding along with the new owner.
i think the name of the tune is "the letter" but im not sure, anyone else know this tune? ( pretty sure it was written in the late 60's early 70's) if so,who sings it please, Thanks ahead of time for all input.

ah-HA! I finally found it ... it took me quite some time ... but I knew the song so I had to find it for you. It's called "Ridin' with Private Malone" by David Ball and i believe it was produced in 2001.

I have heard the song you are talking about...it is popular on the country stations, but I do not know the name or the artist. The song is at least three years old, probably older. Any country music fan could help you. Yes, there is a song called "The Letter" by the Boxtops (Joe Cocker also has an excellent version) but that is NOT the song you are looking for.

I have never heard of that song but what I did hear is that he actaully wanted 2 the car 2 B buried with his body N it. I didnt know that he wanted others 2 enjoy the car as well as he did. It will really strange that other people will b riding with a dead man n spirit.
