In the single, Rihanna says, "I don't wanna hurt him anymore. I don't wanna take away his pride". I believe there was a song in the last 10 years by a male singer or group that said something along the lines of, "please don't hurt me anymore. You don't have to take away my pride." However, after several web searches, I cannot find it.

It does kinda sound like an "answer" to another song. I was think maybe the song by Mario Winans' "I don't Wanna Know". Does mine help? =)

First of all, It's: "I don't wanna take away his life, I don't wanna be a murderer" not "take away his pride". I doubt very much that is was an answer to the song in which u are referring to because this song was penned for Rihanna by Neyo and Stargate after she relayed to them her personal experience of cheating on her first boyfriend. So this song is based on her real life experience.
