Who are your favorite musical theatre stars, and why?
Simple enough, I should think...
Who gives you the chills every time she opens her mouth? Which leading musical men melt your butter quicker than a Bunsen burner?
For me, Elaine Paige and Alison Fraser can do no wrong-quintessentailly brilliant both. As for the men, I keep to a more classical bent there. John Raitt and the unerringly accurate Brent Barrett.

Well, mine go back a ways, and some no longer living.
The late Jerry Orbach was one of my favorites. I can still capture that moment in time when I was sitting balcony audience right, looking down on him doing solo in spotlight in Carnival and just getting chills.
Loved Inga Swenson in a neglected musical 110 in the Shade, based on movie Rainmaker (Katherine Hepburn role became Inga's in musical).
Julie Andrews, as I saw her in My Fair Lady and Camelot before she became screen star (I have an autographed photo sent me for my sixteenth birthday.)
Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth, Sherie Rene Scott. I adore them. They are just so incredible and have such beautiful and distinct voices that i just have to love them. As for men, I love Norbert Leo Butz and Matthew Morrison. And of course Adam Pascal. He's just delicious.
Sutton Foster, Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, Sherie Rene Scott... all of their voices are amazing as well as unique. They give incredible performances and are all so different.
