Inclusive Vacation for Honeymoon?

We are looking at inclusive vacations for our honeymoon. However, we're also looking for an affordable deal. If you have been on one of these vacations or know information about it, please tell me your opinion. Let me know what you think is the best destination, and any other information you would like to give.

The El Dorado Royale in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico is fabulous. It's a five star all inclusive spa resort; the food and the service are fantastic and it's very romantic (adults only). It's been voted the best all inclusive in the world a couple of times.

All food, drinks, and taxes are included. You can buy bottles of wine or champagne at discount prices (as opposed to just getting free glasses of either). There are five different restaurants (you have to make reservations in advance). We went to the El Dorado twice last summer and ate at all of the restaurants and they're all great.

There's a beach, several pools, a swim up bar and a ton of activities. You can also take a cab down to the center square of Playa where's there's shopping, restaurants, bars, bands, and a disco. You can also catch the ferry over to Cozumel and spend the day there.

There's a great spa (anything at the spa is an additional cost) and you can also pay for special things like couples massage on the beach with champagne, lobster dinner on the beach, etc. They also have a honeymoon package and you get some sort of additional gift or something if you're there for your honeymoon.

The first time we went we booked the resort and the hotel separately (the resort was very helpful) and the second time we booked through Funjet. The only thing with Funjet is that once you're there, they try to you to buy additional activities with them some are good (booze cruise, sunset sail on the ocean), some are bad (swimming with the dolphins; supposed to be 30 mins; once you get instructions, your gear, etc., you have about 7 mins. in the water with them).

Definitely book through a travel agent (they can do Funjet) or with the resort directly. While we were there, there were two couples (separately) who booked through Orbitz or Expedia or something, had paid, and had their confirmations and the resort had no record of it and couldn't get in contact with anyone at the Orbitz or Expedia offices.

Below is a link. I hope this helps. For what we received, the prices were very good. Please let me know where you end up! Best wishes!

Our honeymoon was at the Aventura Spa Palace near Cancun, Mexico. It was all-inclusive and a pretty good deal. The resort is adults only. Lots of honeymooners go there. They have a dinner each week for all the honeymooners to get together. We booked with a travel agent through Apple Vacations. I really enjoyed the resort. The honeymoon was my second trip there.

It really depends what you want out of your honeymoon. Usually at most larger resorts, you get what you pay for. The food is Sizzler/Olive Garden/Cruise Ship food. The drinks are a great deal, but try to ask for doubles - hey, since it's free!

We stayed at Moon Palace in Cancun for a vacation and would not go back and would recommend against it. Poor customer service, deceptive advertising, some horribly rude employees, undertrained staff, tedious sales pitches, bad beach, no hot tubs, tons of stray cats. I've heard the beach has gotten better since the last round of hurricanes, but that wouldn't be enough for me to go back.

I'd go to an all-inclusive again at some point - just an upper end one if it's a large place, or there are some small places that are pricey, but are pure luxury.

I have never been on a honeymoon before but I've been to all-inclusive resorts and they are definitely the way too go. I stayed at the Riu in Ocho Rios which has a lot of all inclusive resorts for a good price. I met a lot of people who were on their honeymoon at there, but an even better resort for honeymooners is Sandals. Both my sisters and some friends went to the Sandals resort for their honeymoon and absouletly loved it. They treat you very well. You can go to www.tripadvisor.com so you can see the reviews from regular people like me and you.
