Which of your pets will you always consider your best friend?
Those of us who love the animals in our lives will always have at least one special animal that stands out among the pack. These are the animals which grow so close to us, become so much a part of our lives and our hearts that they have reached the pinnacle from which all other pets will be judged.
For me, it was my marvelous old dog Rex. He appeared one Carnivaltime around my workplace (henceforth the name) and it took me a whole fortnight of putting out food for him to get him to trust me. By then, I was hooked-he had to come home...to a house full of cats. For 10 lucky, beautiful years he was my best friend, my protector, and the star of our neighborhood. Only dog in Mid-City that didn't need a leash and knew everybody and their pets for a 3-block radius. Kept our house from being broken into on three separate occasions. Put up with the cats like a Boy Scout at a retirement home. He died two years ago and I miss him every single day.
Tell me about your best friends...

My best friend was my first dog. Reglisse (licorice in fench) He was all black with just one white patch on his chest. We rescued him when he was alomst 1 from a horrible family that use to hit him and hardly fed him. From the day we brought him home we knew he was special. He never barked unless a stranger came near the house, he loved to go for walks with us and he always slept with my sister and i every night. He was beautiful and such an amazing dog....he really was always there for us. There are so many times when i think that we took him for granted like skipping walks to watch a tv show or not letting him in the pool because we didn't want to dry him off. Although we did spoil him a lot. He took a shower in the morning with my dad..and when we blow dried our hair in the morning he was always sitting right at our feet so he could feel the heat too. When Reglisse was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago...well those were the hardest months of my life. But he was still always there for us. It was like he was putting on a good front. I've never seen my dad cry so much as the day we had to put him down because he couldn't even walk anymore. But to the very end he was there to lick away my dad's and my tears. I still cannot believe he is gone. Nobody will ever love me the way my dog did. To this day even the mention of my dogs name brings tears to our eyes. We buried him in an animal graveyard with a beautiful tombstone that says "Never will we forget...Always we will remember...Our one and only Reglisse" And i have never forgotten...
Draco..... i only paid $100 for this gorgous German Shepherd, that I picked out early, and couldn't wait to get him home. The day came and I was in love, taking more pics of him than my kids! I don't what it was about him, but he was my baby, my best friend, and then one day I left for a vacation and not wanting him to be alone asked a neighbor to watch him... she called me 3 days before i came home, saying he had died, and she didn't know why. The most awful part, I found out how, she lied to me, she had put him on a chain, and hung himself jumping my fence. He had never tried to jump the fence before. That makes me sick to my stomach to even think about what happened. My God, I cried, I am crying now, silly as it seems, I just wanted him back. I miss him so bad, I can't find it in my heart to love another German Shepherd, none of them compare to how wonderful he was, how smart, beautiful, and devoted. He was only a year and a half and he's been gone since 2003, and if I could I'd take it all back and never leave him again. Sure there are other pets in my life, and I love them, some almost as much as him, but none that I can say the same way, as much as Draco.
Well, there was Tigger I had when I was a kid. She was the runt of her litter and she was all black and grey striped kitty. I taught all my cats to come when they were called but she would only come when I called her.
Then there was my dog Ivory, oddly she was all black except for a white star on her chest, hehe. Same deal, I loved her and she loved me very much. I would be talking to my friends and they would be playing with her, or trying to. But she would sit there and just look at me until I said to go play with them. She would sleep at the bottom of my door and wait for me when I was at school. But then someone took her from my yard... I still misss her and it's been over 6 years.
Now there is Bull, my ball python and Rosey my albino cali king. I love my snakes and even though they don't run around like other pets and can sometimes bite my when I feed them, I still love them and take good care of them. They are great pets and good friends, where else can you find someone to listen to you all the time.
I have 3 dogs: 1 male corgie 2 1 female corgie and 3 corgie/border collie...I love all 3 of them,But if i have to pick 1 who stands out alittle bit more than my other 2...It would have to be my male corgie...I had him named before i got home with him,His name is HAPPY...He is aways smiling and a pretty Happy Go Lucky Little Guy...After i had him for 2 weeks, I put him on my bed with me and he came up to me, And lay his neck over mind and push down hard and was hugging me...He is the best thing that came into my life...He loves me,Is my protecter and he always minds me,No matter what...Happy is 6yrs old now and he has slow down alittle,But he is still a great companion...Just like they say,Dogs are mans best friend...It doesn't matter who you are,What color skin you have,Your dog will always LOVE you... If anything happen to HAPPY,I would be lost...HE is still my baby...
well they say that dogs are your best friend. and well i kinda agree. though i really love cats but the problem is that they leave hair everywhere. and when I mean everywhere i mean everywhere. I would have to say that a dog is my best friend... is a dog. I mean everytime you go to school or work and when you get home they always show some love to ya. but with cats they just purr at you and walk away. I don't think that is enough love if you ask me!
