Skagway is also a must see....
If you really want to see Alaska the right way, you need to take the inside passage and go north, like vancouver to seward (anchorage). This way you can see the College Fjords, (amust see) and Glacier Bay. Make sure to get a balcony , and book early, the balconies are the first to go. There is nothing nicer, than setting on your own private balcony with a cup of coffee and seeing the most spectacular sceneriey ever.

The Celebrity cruises and Princess does Alaska the best. We have been on 7 cruises to Alaska on 4 different cruise lines and those two are the best. Celebrity is known for their food and service. They will treat you like Royalty and the pricing is compariable to Princess.

Princess would be my next choice.
Carnival does it ok, and Royal Caribbean does it ok...But not as well as these two does.

Do a helicopter ride in Ketchikan to the Fjords, they will land the helicopter on one of the glaciers, and this is amazing... have your camera ready...
To go deeper into Alaska and see more of the inland, most cruise lines offer a 3 night prenight stay, and take you by rail to the inlands, we done this twice. Make sure you go through a travelagent, they are the ones that have traveled there and know the highlights and the best cruises. For an amazing trip like this, dont go to the internet...This is a lifetime trip and needs to be done professionally and right.

Have a great time.

BRAVO. It will be beautiful.

Take at least a sweater for warmth, even in mid summer.
Be sure to have fresh salmon there - as often as possible.
I envy you - i would vacation there again in a second.
