Does anyone know why half the web seems to be down?

I can get Yahoo, Google, and a few others. But, my webpage, IMDB.com, IndyStar.com, WithoutABox.com, and many others are down.

Anyone know why?

It's not the ISP because I can get on just fine and my connection is up to speed and working fine. Now that I know others have the same issues, there's got to be something bigger.

After trying a bunch of things, I found out it is some bizarre issue with Brighthouse - it's nationwide, so that explains why some are having trouble, and some aren't.

IMDB.com is currently running and i'm sure the others are not down either.

If they still are down for you, i'd consider checking firewall settings or internet options to make sure its not blocking some sites.

Or your ISP could just be acting up. Give it a few minutes/hours.

Have you checked the settings in your security software? If not do that and alter the settings to how you want. Security software often automatically updates itself and will sometimes forbid access to a page you like due to an update that "blacklisted" the page you want. I also agree to some extent with the ISP could be having issues.

Just got of IMDB and indystar, both working fine, if you continue to have problem, in explorer go to tools options and delete the cache files.
