What if Julio Cesar Chavez vs Meldrick Taylor March 17 1990 were 15 rounds?

Lets just say, Taylor barely beats the count gets up makes it to his corner? The fight is 15 rounds instead of 12, what happens?

Smitty ~ Thanks for the honest answer.
Brent F ~ I was looking forward to your response.
Toughguy~ You know your boxing.
Thanks to everyone else who answered so far, I'm still waiting for Brads and Ric's reply. I value all opinions, if I agree with them or not, especially the above mentioned... Jane, where are you? It's a Chavez question. Thank guys!

Sara ~ Believe it or not I just spoke to Meldrick two days ago. The whole thing is sad, very sad.

It was a toss up, there were a lot a great answers and some I wont even comment on. I have to go with Brent and Toughguy is real close behind him. This I know as a matter of fact. If Meldrick got up nd beat the count he would have won the fight, without a doubt, but the punishment he took is with him to this very day. If the fight was 15 rounds, there wouldn't have been a round 13 or 15. The rest is just my opinion. Thanks to everyone for their input.

Santana what is up man? I think Chavez continues to beat him down and Taylor gets knocked out in round 13 and is hurt worse than when the fight actually was stopped. Yes the end of that fight was controversial but Taylor's tank was dry. I genuinely believe Steele did the right thing stopping the fight. The safety of the fighter is paramount!

Taylor was completely out of gas by the end of the 12th. I can't imagine Chavez not being able to finish him off in the 13th or 14th. Of course we are assuming Taylor would have fought the same way if the fight was 15 rounds. He might have paced himself a little bit better but who knows?

He would have been smart enough to run for the last 3 rounds and not let Chavez hit him again. I can't remember what the scorecard was, but I think he was far enough ahead to have won if this had been the case. I was happy with the real ending, I thought Chavez deserved to win.

Very interesting question Santana D. I believe that Taylor never would have even seen the 15th round as he was already badley hurt. I believe Chavez would have stopped him in the 13th round.

Of course, Meldrick Taylor would have KO'ed before the fight was over unless he had extra special recuperative powers.
