My humane society pup died of distemper, how long do I wait before it is safe to get another one?

Make sure it has all it's shots and you can get another now.

I'd ask a vet, just to be absolutely safe & sure.  I thought the humane society tested for distemper and the like before adopting out puppies....

ask your vet. do you need to disinfect your home before you get another dog would be a good question to start out with.

you could have prevented this if you had have vaccinated your pup. if you are ready for another, be sure to vaccinate them.
