How do I remove tarnish from a silver ring?

I was cutting up boiled eggs earlier and when I was done noticed that the part of the ring that was touching the eggs was now a copper color. What can I do to remove this? I have tried fingernail polish remover and that didn't work....

No, don't do that. Just buff with a soft cloth to remove it. Purchase a Silver Polishing cloth for the future.

Using Silver Polish removes the silver from the ring. Toothpaste will also. Just buff it and it will remove the tarnish.

Silver jewelry cleaner works wonders and it is only a couple of dollars. You can buy it anywhere with a jewelry counter, even Target. Just go up to the counter and ask for it if they don't have any setting out.

It's nice to have around too, I clean up my rings about once a month.

Good luck!

There is a product called "Never Dull". Buy or borrow just a small bit of that and it should rub right back to normal. Also, if you're at a jewelry shore browsing you can ask them to clean your jewelry in their ultrasonic cleaner. Ultrasonic cleaners do a great job cleaning jewelry. Plus, most jewelers will clean your stuff for free just to get you to come in and look at their inventory!

Try toothpaste. Works wonders. Cheap too. Check it out.
