we have tried house-modelling programs but it is still difficult to visualise what the house will be like to live in.
It really is better to look at show houses and map them out on squared paper.
For our bathroom I got some big boxes and labelled them "toilet", "shower", "bath" etc and moved them around until we were ok with the positions.
