You can tell her that if you use a WAP key then your network lock can only be opened with the key. It is like a lock with a key, which can only be opened with the key that you have specified. So no one else can get access through your WAP, which is very secure.

You can also tell her that now a days the WAP are very smart in terms of security. You can actually specify the lentgh of the key you want. If you can remember long keys then better go for 26 key lentgh or you can go for 10 length key.
