Overloading will kill your central nervous system and it will take double the recovery time to recoup, this is how alot of people get into overtraining and actually get negative results..I dont recommend it...
b. two types of weight training? All weight training is the same, the only thing that varies is diet and amount of cardio...now THEY SAY if you lift heavy with low reps you will get stronger (3-5 reps) and if you lifting moderate weight with 10-12 reps you will actually get bigger...I think its all BS...you lift, you eat you sleep, you gain muscle...
weight training equipment...who cares, anything other than free weights are a waste of time...

a) Overload can cause injuries. Muscles need time to rest for growth and overloading does not give them sufficient time to rest and will cause muscle breakdown.
b) free weights, free weights, and free weights.
c) Flat bench and lifting cage. You can pretty much do every exercise with these 3 equipment except for lat pull downs and leg presses.
