No, I think he's overrated as an author but that he has managed to tap into people's paranoia about the secrecy within the church.

This debate has been going on for so long. Have you people not been hearing what Dan Brown has been repeatedly saying? If no, here's what he said : the places, architecture, technology etc. described in da vince code are real and are not a work of fiction. BUT, the way the characters interpret these things are fiction.
Now, why such a fuss about that? Why should everyone go on believing that everything told in the book is true, inspite of him declaring the opposite? They say it would turn christians against their religion. Are they so doubtful about the peoples faith, that they believe they would turn against the religion by reading a novel? A very meagre possibility.

No, Dan Brown has clearly stated a number of times this book is FICTION. WHy would any one believe a fictionial book?

no i don't, one because it's a fiction book.... two because the book lowers the faith people have..... but it's very interesting because we dont really know what had happened then... but still... i dont believe what he had written, his imagination is quite good at making up a book of the life of Jesus... only it is only considered as a fiction which means it isn't true
