How can a computer monitor be used as a TV?

I have a rather large (not flat screen) computer monitor that came with my Dell desktop. I am looking to use that as a TV, or perhaps to use my TV as a computer monitor. Either way, the problem is that I do not have the room in my RV to have both the TV and the monitor, and I am looking to reduce the space being taken up by my computer. Suggestions? I'm also looking for advice on how to set up my computer to use the least ammount of space possible. Wireless keyboard & mouse will allow me to store the tower out of sight, but I need to get dual use out of the monitor/TV.

I am poor and I don't have a lot of money to work with, so this can't be an expensive fix.

you will need a video card with TV in & tv out. or can buy a new monitor that doubles as both.I have an RV I stay in and I use an LCD flat screen tv and have it hung on the wall. a great space saver.and it can be used with tv & pc.

Get a TV tuner card (under 50 bucks-Try tigerdirect.com) for your PC and use your monitor to view TV. You will be very disappointed if you use your TV as a computer monitor as the resolution is way to small.

Depending on your internet access you should investigate fiting a TV tuner card inside your PC. Its a simple operation, but how simple will be dicatated by the speed of your internet and the specs within your PC. Dell have a lot of faults, a very expensive help line for one, but they do make reliable and usally good spec computers. Have a look at the Dell site for tuner cards and Frequently Asked Questions ( FAQ's) Alternatively go to www.computeractive.co,. uk they give really great and easy to understand advice. Failing that a friendly local computer shop will certainly be able to advise you as to the right set up for your particular PC. Best of luck
