Windows ME-system restore and MS support?

I have windows ME and recently MS announced they are no longer supporting the product. When I had problems in the past, as a last resort I would use system restore and there were always a multitude of recent restore points. Now I notice that I have no restore points, nor can I create them. Any ideas as to what is going on? I do have decent virus scan, zonealarm, antispy so hopefully it not something along those lines.

I don't have any of my old restore points available either, as far as I can see.

How much room is on the hard drive. Restore points won't build if there isn't a bunch of room. Try deleting some of the restore points to create some space and try again.
