I BOUGHT a USED GAMECUBE on ebay.IT APPEARS TO BE DOA. i hooked it up right- no lite, no motor sounds. HELP!?

i carefully hooked up the system- power brick cord into a new surge suppressor strip(which works cause i tested all 6 outlets with a lamp). AV cord went into analog slot and into my newish panasonic tv, which has the quick hookup on the front. The plugs are color coded , and i seated them snugly. I tested the quick hookup(video 3) with an atari flashback console, and asteroids played as good as always.plugged in the nintendo controller to the #1 hole and pushed power. NOTHING. No light came on, i heard no sounds of whirring motor. I think i have done everything right and was sold a dead cube. Im also sure that mr dad who sold me his sons cube will tell me its used and "as is" even though he said it was "working fine". There was no mention of "as is" on the auction. If YOUR mom came to you with this story, what would you tell her? I think I am going to get screwed hard(over a $100) here.GAMERS & EBAYERS, PLEASE HELP ME!!

file a complaint with ebay and settle it through them...dont try to do it with the person that sold the dead GC to you. just file a complaint saying that you were sold a product that wasnt working and it didnt way anything in the ad about it being sold as is, or in non-working condition...good luck and i hope you get your money back...and if you do just buy a new or used one from a gamestop...at least you know that will work and if not you get your money back easier

I had the same problem. What you need is a different controller. I plugged a 3rd party controller in gamecube and for some reason it will never work. But when I put in a real nintendo controller in it, it plays just fine.

hope that helped
