tips on keeping my house clean?

Just the basics. Keep dirt out by placing good floor mats near every outside door and one right inside the door. the acronym CAYG means clean as you go. Wash that cereal bowl and coffee mug and spoon right now. When mail comes, put bills in the bills area, and recycle the rest. Spills, crumbs, fingerprints happen. Clean 'em as you see 'em. If It smells clean, it must be clean. Stink comes from a variety of sources, and a biggie is from breeding bacteria. Clean every counter, surface, floor. Wash all bedding, clothing, area rugs, throw pillows, blankets, sheers, drapes. If it can be washed, wash it down by hand, or give it a bath in the washer. Open every window for great cross ventilation. Ten minutes will do. Toss the trash. Wash the dog. Spray an Oder eliminator like Fabreeze, sprinkle baking soda on the couch, carpet, leave on for an hour. Take a break. Return, vacuum. Put all things back in place. Light candles. Enjoy your clean, Serene home. Plus, before bed, do a walk thru and tidy up. Same before you go to work. Vacationing? Air out house. Pour 1 cup Bleach down toilet, sprinkle scented carpet deo around. Return to a home that looks and smells like the cleaning lady came by. Awwwww.

SEEING AS HOW YOU HAVE A 5 YEAR OLD THIS IS YOUR OPPURTUNITY TO HAVE HIM/HER HELP YOU.............
if there are a whole bunch of shoes laying around play a race with your five year old to see who can put the most shoes in the closet the fastest.
same thing with the toys and clothing etc.
my kid loves the "race"
this works well with my four year old...........just try the timer thing i said and it will eventually become a habit and your children will all help you to keep the house clean!!!!!

Best tip I can give you is clean up as you go & try not to leave anything laying around...do dishes right away & always take out the garabge.....
