Does anyone know where a hiking trial is that over looks Los Angeles?

It was on Beauty and the Geek, and they took a hike and it was a great view of LA. It ended at pic-nic tables.

I didn't see the episode, but there are a number of great trails in Griffith Park with a great view of LA. You can start at the Observatory, and hike to the top of Mt. Hollywood for a 360 degree view of LA, Glendale, Burbank, and the Valley. It's great if there's not much smog (best on windy days in fall, winter, & spring). On that same trail, Dante's View has picnic tables, but not the total view.

There is also a nice hike from the (golf) driving range up to Amir's Garden, which has some very good views to the east.

Maybe I'll try to view the episode and get back to you.

I'm not positive of that specific trail, but there are lots of wonderful trails with great city views in Griffith Park. From the Mt. Hollywood trail you get excellent views of downtown and the Hollywood sign ... and there are lots of picnic areas along Vermont Street near the south end of the park.

If you'd like to walk up the hill .... enter off N. Vista Street (North of Hollywood Blvd / West of N. La Brea Avenue - Hollywood area)

If you'd like to start at the top .... enter off Mulholland Drive (West off the 101 Freeway thru Hollywood Hills)

Here's a link to a google map if you'd like.
