i need a free or near free table to display my knitting creations that i have for sale. does anyone know where this can be had?

Well, besides Gibralter Trade Center, there is always craft shows at local schools, and what about when there is a festival in town. You might want to call the city of interest to see if they could help you. You could ask at local yarn shops around town and see if someone is willing to split the cost of a table or if they could display your items for a portion of the price.
Just remember, you will need business cards and flyers.

Why not try the Gibralter Trade center out in Mt Clemens, it probably won't be free but I bet its pretty cheap.
