Doesn't it just tick you off to no end when you take the time and trouble to answer someone's question...?
...(sorry, ran out of characters)...and they can't bother themselves to choose a Best Answer??? Then it goes into the Voting void full of tied votes and you've pretty much just wasted your time trying to be helpful to that person? (other than the 2 points) I would think that most people answer with the hope of being chosen as Best Answer. Even if your's isn't chosen though, it's just a simple courtesy.

Yes it does. And it brings your percentage of best answers down, making you look like an imbecile.
Yea. On the flip side of that you do have some people that write back, but there comment is a smart a** one,and not only did you not get an answer but now you have a punk telling you to, learn how to spell or some smart a** answer like that.I try to answer only the question I feel comfortable with answering.Something I'm sure about, and hope for a "Best Answer".
I always give someone a best answer, unless I don't get a good answer. I think it's just common courtesy. I don't ask a question that I don't want an answer to. What really irritates me are the jerks who only want to be sarcastic or criticize, and the idiots who answer questions they don't know anything about.
No it doesn't bother me because I don't do this for the points. The points mean nothing. This is purely entertainment for me but if I can help someone with my advice then that's a bonus. I've been one of those people who have left the decision up to the voters only because I couldn't pick just one best answer. Why would you consider it a waste of time trying to help people? Unless you're one of those who doesn't help unless there's something in it for you.
I don't answer for the points, but I do appreciate it when the asker choses his own best answer showing that he's been back to read the responses. So many times I don't even know if the asker ever logged in again & I'm just talking to the walls....
